Water treatment for livestock
Dunetec offers different systems adapted to your needs for water treatment.Water treatment for livestock farms is essential for maintaining safe and healthy water for animals. These water treatment systems are beneficial to all types of animals
Depending on the case, it will be preferable to install either an inline salt electrolysis system or a chlorination system. Depending on the analysis of the water to be treated, a pH correction should also be considered.
Inline Electrolysis System
One of the major problems of livestock is the arrival of a disease into an epidemic. The consequences range from the loss of animals to the stunted growth of the lot. Keeping the farm healthy is both a gain in the number of animals and in their growth.
In 2016, Dunetec carried out a test in collaboration with a cooperative in China (in Fujian) in a pig farm. On two buildings (2x 90 sows), treated in the same way, one with raw drilling water, the other with the same water treated by electrolysis, the final results were: mortality reduced by 4.7% and growth (weight at term) increased by 5.1%. The installation cost paid for itself in less than a year.
Inline electrolysis allows disinfection at two levels:
1) in the passage of the electrolysis cells, the instantaneous modification of the pH destroys the membranes of the bacteria and alters the viruses,
2) the production of hypochlorous acid destroys bacteria, viruses and spores in an instant. The remaining hypochlorous acid keeps the water healthy until consumed by animals and prevents the development of biofilms.

The advantages of this solution are obvious:
• Water disinfection (viruses, bacteria, spores).
• Removal of biofilms.
• Strong disinfectant production capacity (up to 1200W).
• Remote control and access to production history.
• Possibility of adding sensors to control and monitor the operation of the farm
If necessary, the electrolysis controllers can also control a metering pump to inject acid to correct the pH.
To ensure the water treatment control, the installation is connected to Cloud Connect. This link provides the treatment history (flow rates, cumulative flow rates, dosages, settings, machine status, etc.) and alerts you in the event of a problem.
Other sensors are also available for water quality: pH, conductivity, temperature, or for air quality: temperature, humidity, speed, ammonia level.
Inline Chlorination System
Chlorination is effective against bacteria and many viruses. When chlorine is added to water, it reacts with organic matter and other impurities present in the water. The amount of chlorine needed for disinfection may also depend on the concentrations of these impurities.
The use of chlorine is recommended when the water is not suitable for electrolysis technology. In this case, a concentrated solution of chlorine is mixed with the water to protect it from bacteria and viruses. The resulting solution is able to keep the drinking water for several days.

The advantages of this solution are obvious:
• Water disinfection (viruses, bacteria).
• Removal of biofilms.
• Remote control and access to production history.
• Possibility of adding sensors to control the farm.
As with electrolysis, to ensure the water treatment control, the installation is connected to Cloud Connect.
